12/30/2023 0 Comments Hardcore runescape ironman![]() If killing 3,000 cave horrors for a black mask is going to frustrate you, Ironman might not be for you! ![]() (Don’t look at my mystic robe bottom ok?) For example, the upgrades I have available as an “end game” Ironman are just raids uniques and a few niche things like nightmare drops, corp drops, some gwd items, and maybe a few others I can’t think of at the moment. These upgrades slow down overtime, eventually taking an average of 10s or 100s of hours to get your next upgrade. Getting your first rune kite shield, or even a strength amulet can make you feel just as good as getting your first major upgrade on your main account. Upgrades on an Ironman feel a lot different than on a main account.Ironman is a fresh outlook on the game and you will be interacting with at least 5x more content than you ever have by the time you hit the “mid game” ( barrows gloves, dragon defender, 70 combats, at least 60+ in all skills, etc. When starting an iron, you want to consider some things. Kinda venting, highly recommend ironman to force 100x the amount of content, late game can get a bit burnout-y. I miss the days of thinking 70 agility would take forever lol. I love watching my brothers and friends grinding through their early/midgame ironman because of how quickly they can climb. New content is exciting of course, but I feel like I'm starting to just see additional hours in front of me rather than the exciting experience of progression. It's dozens of hours for slight upgrades and it's a bit tiresome. Gone are the days of 2-3 hours to see substantial game-changing progress. In contrast, I do love the diversity of content that ironman sort of requires you to engage with, however lately, it has felt like lack of bad-rng mitigation is my main gripe. My mindset in terms of efficiency would lead me to just grind vorkath/raids non-stop for money to get upgrades. I can't imagine playing a main much again. Instead, it slows WAY down and you're grinding 12 hours for a mining level that doesn't change much of the core gameplay. What feels tough, is as you enter the endgame, it's no longer a 12 hour grind to unlock full graceful, or dragon imps for a glory, both of which unlock vast vast parts of the game. It's a drop I've spent hundreds of hours to even get the slayer level to unlock + the grind of the boss itself. ![]() I'm entering late-game ironman and I remember the actual freakout when I unlocked the hydra claw.
